Mr. Stanley Wayne Scott

Stanley Wayne Scott was born to Robert and the late Irene Long-Scott on September 22, 1961. On March 14, 2025, God saw that his soldier was near the finish line, God told him it was time, and Stanley finished his race surrounded by the love of his wife. At a young age Stanley was baptized, and he developed a strong love of Christ and a love for music. He attended Jackson Madison County Schools and graduated from Jackson-Central Merry High School in 1979. During his career he served as a custodian for the Jackson Madison County School System. Throughout his lifetime he served as musician at various churches, where he later joined Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, Tennessee under the leadership of Pastor Tommie Woods. Later using his musical gift, he served at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church until his health failed. Stanley met the love of his life, Emma Lou Bond, and on December 12, 1998, they married, and he gained three children that he helped raise and love as his own. For twenty-six years they shared a love for each other, Christ and music. She sang with her anointed voice, and he played the lead guitar. During his lifetime that love for music was shared with various groups throughout the Tennessee area, with the final group being” The Heaven Bound Jrs.” Stanley enjoyed various quartet groups, one of his favorite groups of all time were “The Pilgrim Jubilees” and he also enjoyed music by B.B. King, that is how he named his favorite guitar,” Lucille.” He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Irene Long-Scott, his grandmother, Ethel Scott, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie T. Bond and Katie Mae Bond, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny Bond and Laura “Tine” Bond and two grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories: loving and devoted wife of twenty-six years, Emma; his father, Robert Scott of Jackson, TN; six children: Charles (Sally) Dickerson of Jackson, TN, Johnathan (Javetta) Cole of Sachse, TX, Clenzie (Adi) Kyles of Benton Harbor, MI, Sharita (Tiquarius) Cole of Memphis, TN, Crystal (Antwan) Cole of Alamo, TN, and Tarwellyn “TJ” (Ali) Scott of Battle Creek, MI; his siblings: Cortelieus “Tina” (Demetrius) Stewart and Adrian (Latrice) Wiley, both of Jackson, TN, His in-laws: Willie (Bertha) Bond of Brownsville, TN, Charles (Mildred) Bond of Jackson, TN, Ezell (Ruby) Bond of Stanton, TN, Delois (Nathaniel) Cole of Jackson, TN, Terry (Lisa) Bond of Denmark, TN, and Linda Bond of Brownsville, TN. Adoptive siblings: Pastor Tommie and Earnestine Woods of Bolivar, TN: a special sister: Sheila Clark, a God Brother: Bernard (Sheila) Carter; four aunts: Carlene Clark, Betty Thompson, Dottie Carroll, and Bettie Carroll; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
