Mr. Ronald C. Officer

Ronald Conard Officer, made his transition to be with our Lord and Savior on March 23, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1942 in Detroit Michigan, to Wallace and Mildred Officer. He moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan as a child with his parents and siblings. Ronald graduated from Ann Arbor High school in 1960, in Ann Arbor Michigan. He served in the United States Army as an Honor Guard at Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia. After completing his time in the military, he attended technical school and received a certificate to become a computer operator. He spent his professional career in the computer technical support field working for various companies (Bendix, R.L. Polk) as a computer operator, computer analyst and eventually retiring from the University of Michigan ITCS Department as part of their Desktop Support staff. Ronald was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all types of sports. His hobbies included deer and rabbit hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing pickleball and racquetball. On May 15, 1965, Ronald married Cornelious “Nita” Anderson and they remained devoted to one another close to 61 years, from this union they had two children. Ronald kept his promise to his wife to bring her back home after retirement, therefore in 2008 they moved to Jackson, Tennessee after living together in Ann Arbor, Michigan for 42 years. In 2010, Ronald and Cornelious “Nita” became members of New St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Ronald loved the Lord, had a servant heart and was a faithful member and served in many ministries at the church: Deacon Ministry (Co-Chair), Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Teacher, Scholarship Ministry, Laymen/Brotherhood Ministry, Male Choir, Culinary Department, and Gospel Choir. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Mildred Officer; siblings Cynthia Officer Scott, James Officer, Jonathon Officer, and Marsha Officer Coley. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 61 years, Cornelious “Nita” Officer; two children Rolanda (Darron) McHaney and Steven Officer; God children, Roosevelt Kirkland and Yvette Kirkland, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close relatives and friends.
