Zackie Anita Beard was a gift to all whom had the honor to know her. She professed not only a deep and lasting love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she exemplified that love in her care for her mother and so many others. She is remembered by many for her humbleness and admired by a multitude for her commitment to help those in need. Zackie was an anointed case manager, not just in her work but in her dedication to assure that each person she came in contact was given the best opportunity to thrive. Zackie died unexpectedly on Friday, January 5, 2018 in Jackson, TN. She was born on October 22, 1965 to Eroy Beard and Ernestine Beard. She was their only child and a true beacon of light to her grandparents, Richard and Juanita Nicholson and Jack and Laura Beard. Zackie professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Jackson, TN under the leadership of Reverend Brock. Zackie remained a member of Macedonia until her untimely death. She attended High School at Jackson Central Merry High School in Jackson, TN; and later proceeded to Tennessee State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree. Zackie furthered her aspirations to help others and attended Washington University, where she received a MA in Psychology. After completing her university studies, Zackie enriched the lives of multitudes through her positions as a Crisis Specialist as Pathways Behavioral Health Services; Care Manager at Human Beings Care/HIV Services, Inc.; Co-Owner of L & E, LLC; Case Manager at Youth Villages; and Case Manager with State of TN Department of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities. Through her work and dedication, Zackie has touched the lives of thousands, young and old. Zackie Anita Beard leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Ernestine Beard; Aunts, Marjorie Nichelson, Vernice Nichelson, Wilma Lee, Velma Chatman, and Joella Beard; her BFF, Charita M. Johnson; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Eroy Beard and her grandparents (Richard and Juanita Nicholson; Jack and Laura Beard).
