Winnie Kay Blakemore Lofton was born on November 28, 1952 in Trenton, Tennessee to Marion Herbert and Lois Josephine Blakemore. She graduated from Merry High School in 1969 and then from Lane College, where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She went on to work for Lane College for 32 years . She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved oldest daughter Kimmeca Reddick; three brothers: Elmon Blakemore, James Thomas Pulliam, and Charles Blakemore; and two sisters: Olivia Bush and Marion Janet Holmes. She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Johnny Lofton and Nick Lofton; one daughter, Whitney Lofton; seven sisters: Evelyn Anderson, Wanda (Louis) Beard, Ann Beard, Barbara Owens, Lottie (Sandy) Brady, Connie (Melvin) Harris, and Donna McClendon; two brothers: Richard Blakemore and Odie Blakemore; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, sorority sisters, and friends
