Ms. Pearlie Mae Houston

March 13, 1943 - July 17, 2021

Pearlie Mae Houston (or Pearl as she preferred to be called) was born on March 13, 1943, in Brownsville, Tennessee to Leroy and Coraine Taylor the third of four children. She was an adventurous person who loved to travel which led to her living in numerous places across the states but settling for long periods of time in Brownville, TN, Jackson, MI and Jackson, TN respectfully. Pearl will always be remembered as a loving, giving, happy person who loved to laugh and was very devoted to her family and to her God Jehovah. Pearl loved to tell stories about the adventures that she had as a young woman but would always speak of her search for the True God that led to trying many different religions but finally hearing the word of truth when contacted by Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was baptized on May 1, 1977 and served as a regular pioneer for over 30 years. Her unswerving love for Jehovah was reflected in her entire way of life, including her desire to be the best wife she could be and the best mother to her children and to the foster children that she took care of along the way as well as being a loyal and true friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Leroy Taylor of Detroit, MI and Willie D. Taylor of Brownsville, TN. Pearl leaves to cherish her memory her children: Stephanie A. (Lenwood) Daniels of Brownsville, TN; Darrell C. Rice of Jackson, TN; and Janey (Brad) Moore of Jackson, TN, her sister Sarah (Claude) Farley of California, her granddaughters Sequoia Springfield and Sophia Moore, adoring niece Claudette Farley and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
