Ms. Monka “Monica” Merriweather
February 2, 1967 - March 25, 2022
Monka “Monica” Kotrell Merriweather was born February 2,1967, to the late Ada Mae Merriweather. On the morning of March 25,2022, God decided it was time for her to come home. She professed a hope in Christ at a young age and united with Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Tn, where she held her membership until moving to Murfreesboro, Tn in 2017. She later became a member of Zion Christian Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Christopher A. Johnson. She graduated from Jackson-Central Merry High School in 1986. Monka worked at Northbrooke Nursing Home, West Tennessee Healthcare, and was employed at Tenneco in Smyrna TN until her passing. She was preceded in death her mother: Ada Long Merriweather, great-grandmother: Sweet Georgia L. Brown and grandmother: Momma Sarah Long. Those left to cherish her precious memories include her only child (and supervisor): Nedra Long, and granddaughter (her little princess): Kylar Williams both of Murfreesboro,TN, two sisters: Joyce Fowler and Vickie Long both of Murfreesboro, Tn; one brother: Mitchael Long of Jackson, Tn, and A God Sister: Rosalynn Green of Jackson, Tn. She would like to acknowledge a few special friends: Mario (Mont) Watkins, James (Mr.Bird) Kelly and Shawn Williams. She also leaves behind a host of dear family members which includes nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as coworkers and friends.
