Mr. Michael Greer Sr.

Michael Greer, Sr. was born on May 20, 1951 in Denmark Tennessee to the union of the late Ernest Lee White and Minnie Lee Greer Marshall. “Blue” as he was affectionately known, departed that life on February 7, 2022, at the age of 70 years old. He was educated in the Madison County School System, and graduated from West Senior High in 1970. He furthered his education and completed his degree in Agriculture Science at Tennessee State University. After TSU “Blue” held a #1 ranking selling Life Insurance for many years. After retiring from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, he continued as a member of multiple organizations he loved and spent much time with listed but not limited to: Tennessee State Employee Association, Humboldt AARP Chapter, the Communities Baseball Leagues, Zarah Temple #151, Hope Lodge #144 of Jackson, Tennessee. As a man of Christ he accepted God at an earlier age. Throughout his life there was nothing he loved more than his family, friends and baseball. That's where he became well known to the communities as Coach Greer. Michael was united in matrimony to Delois Robertson Greer and they were blessed to parent Michael Greer Jr. and Michelle Greer. He was preceded in death by his first born: Myschonndra Thompson; parents: Ernest White and Minnie Lee Greer Marshall; grandparents: Albert Greer, Sr. and Augusta Greer; aunts: Ossie Lee Greer, Eleanor Watley, Eva Mae Farley, Alma Greer Miller and Ernestine Weddle; uncles: Albert Greer, Jr. and Ernest Greer; niece:Tasha Mance; and nephew: Tony Crider. He leaves to cherish his memory his son: Michael Greer, Jr. of Humboldt, Tennessee; daughter: Michelle Greer of Antioch, Tennessee; a special friend: Delois Greer; four sisters: Alma Jean Bewaji, Lucinda Marshall (Joe) Dowdell and Ernestine (Pete) Fulton all of Indianapolis, Indiana and Elaine Rowley of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren: Myesha Greer, Mariah Greer, Tiganeika Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Jr. Tihyuanna Thompson, Timon Thompson, Tynidgra Thompson and Ticardra Thompson; great-grandchildren: Malik Wilson and Ma'Kinley Wilson as well as a host of cousins he hold dear to his heart as if they were born his siblings not limited too: Valerie "Denise" Woods of Denmark, Tennessee; Bishop Nathaniel Bond of Denmark, Tennessee; Dianne Anthony of Caseyville, Illinois ; Meichi Hutt of St Louis, Missouri; Stanley Weddle of Indianapolis Indiana; James "Pee Wee" Greer and Charles Greer both of St. Louis, Missouri; his aunt: Lois Greer of St. Louis, Missouri, his dearest uncle: Alonzo (Elaine) Greer of Peoria, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love him and he love unconditionally.
