Margarite V. Rodgers-Moore also affectionally known as (Big Mama & GeeGee) was born January 27, 1941 in Jackson, TN to the late James Edward “Big Boy/JB” Rodgers and Wilma Beatrice Bray-Rodgers both of Jackson, TN. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Springfield Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA until her return home to Jackson in 2018. Margarite attended the Madison County Public Schools and she was employed at Ethan Allen Interior Designers and Highland Cleaners for many years. She also worked with her son in the dry-cleaning industry in Atlanta, Georgia. During this time, she proudly assisted and supervised the dry-cleaning of all the band uniforms for the movie “Drumline”. She enjoyed DJing her friends’ parties, shopping, dressing sharp, travelling and spending time with friends and family. Margarita departed this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by; Grandparents; Ernest Rodgers and Jenny Brown-Rodgers, Robert Bray, parents James and Wilma Rodgers, Uncle James L. Rodgers and One Aunt - Cordieus Rodgers. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Anthony L. Griffin, Rodney R. Miller (Carolyn), Kenneth F. Miller (Patricia), FrenCherry R. Miller (Special friend and care-giver Christina Cottrell), One sister: Mary Sue Rodgers-Bufford, One Aunt: Mary Florence Rodgers-Green (Bubba): 2 nephews: Reginal Rodgers (Tasha) and Kenneth Jones Jr, One Sister-friend (Dorothy Nunnally – Atlanta), 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, along with a host of extended nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
