Mrs. Kenitra Buchanan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

The sun rose on July 26, 1976, and she was named Kenitra Antionette Davis. The sun set on May 31, 2021, when God called his angel to take her rest. Kenitra Antionette Davis Buchanan was born to the late William Eugene “Billy” Davis and Earline Richardson Bates. She accepted Christ at an early age, where she was a member of New Greater Bethel A.M.E. She attended the Jackson Madison County School System, where she would have been a graduate of Jackson Central Merry High class of ’94. Kenitra was employed by CCA from 2007 until her health started to fail in 2020. Kenitra was preceded in death by her parents Ms. Earline Bates, Mr. William Davis, grandparents Willie Mae Bates, James Anderson, Sr., Nancy, and Edger Davis. Kenitra leaves to cherish her memories: husband Johnny Buchanan, two daughters Ken’Iesha Buchanan, Bre’Kalia Buchanan both of Nashville, TN; one son Ja’Marquez Buchanan of Nashville, TN; one stepson Quinton Sykes, two stepdaughters Jahrielle Tyson and Aubrielle Tyson all of Jackson, TN. Two grandchildren Earion and Malaysia Buchanan; stepmother Ms. Mary Davis, two stepsisters Shawonda Dawkins, and Teresa Harden; stepbrother Clarence Dawkins of Jackson, TN. One sister Latasha (James) Hyde; two brothers William (Vanessa) Dawkins, and Marcus (Charis) Davis; four nieces Terrica Wilson, Jada Wilson, Dasia Dawkins, and Zoe Davis; two nephews Stevonta’ Hyde, and Zack Davis. Three aunts Nether (Thomas) Rankins, Mary Dawkins, and Diane Dawkins, of Chicago, IL. Three uncles Ernest Davis, James Anderson, both of Jackson, TN, and Billy Anderson of Chicago, IL. She also leaves a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones to cherish her memories.
