Mr. Johnny Ray Woolfork Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Johnny Ray Woolfork was born on March 1, 1955, in Gibson County, Tennessee to the late Eugene and Mattie Lee Woolfork. He departed this life on Thursday, January 13, 2022. At a very early age, he professed faith in Christ and united with Hudson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Medina, Tennessee where he was a lifelong member and there he served as the Chairman of the Board of Stewards. Additionally, he valued education. He attended high school at Medina High School in Medina, TN. After graduating from high school, he attended The University of Tennessee in Martin, TN. There he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Through his life, Johnny supported his daughter, granddaughter, and other nieces and nephews as they obtained higher education. Johnny was a man of honor and respect. A true gentleman who cared about his family with his whole heart, and modeled what the love of Jesus Christ looks like. He was a devoted son, brother, father, and grandfather. Most importantly, he served in all aspects of life as God command him to do. In early life, he was employed at the Milan Arsenal. As he advanced into a career, he served as a investigator for The Public Defenders Office in Jackson, TN. In his final years, he worked for the corporation Berry Plastics in Jackson, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Mattie Lee Woolfork; three brothers: Donald Ray Woolfork, Thomas Woolfork and Charles Woolfork; and one sister: Catherine Woolfork. Johnny leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter: Shantell Woolfork Johnson; two grandchildren: Asiauna J. Woolfork and Asyria Woolfork; siblings: David (Kathy)Woolfork and Diane Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
