Mrs. Jennie Mae Anderson

November 6, 1929 - November 28, 2021

Today we celebrate the Homegoing of Mrs. Jennie Mae Anderson, who was born November 6, 1929 in Canaan County, Mississippi to the late Mr. Shelly and Mrs. Elizabeth Williams. On Sunday, November 28, 2021, God called one of his special Angels home to rest. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age with Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Benton, County, Mississippi. After moving to Tennessee, she joined Walnut Grove M.B. Church of Jackson, TN under the late Rev. S.P. Sanders and latter to Rev. Clarence Williams where she was a faithful member of the Usher Board, Mother’s of Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Member of Culinary Committee, Member of City / County Missionary Ministry where she served as Chaplain. She remained a faithful member until her until her health declined. She was united in holy matrimony November 2, 1957 to the late James “Big Jack” Anderson for forty years, whom she faithfully and unselfishly loved and cared for in his sickness. Those who knew her knew this Woman could cook! She was employed with Food Services as a Cook at both Union University and Lambuth College where she retired after over 25 years of excellent service. She was the strongest woman ever, a devoted wife, the best mother one could have, and the most supportive and loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son: James “Shane” Anderson; siblings: Sisters: Ida Graham, Della Smith, Dorothy Morrow, Fannie Mae McCarley, Virginia Williams; Brothers: Jessie Williams, Gene Williams, Shelly Williams Jr., Larry Williams, Lukie Hill and Lizzie Robinson. Mrs. Anderson leaves to cherish her memory two children: Mr. Willie Ray Williams of Jackson, Tennessee, and daughter: Ms. Patricia (Pat) Ann Anderson Faison of Suffolk, Virginia; sisters: Mrs. Betty Joe Rivers of Bolivar, Tennessee and Mrs. Bernice Beard of Jackson, Tennessee; Sister-in-Law Mrs. Rachel (James) Walker; Brother-in-Law Mr. Clyde Anderson; Grand children: Pamela Williams, Shyteak (Tiffany) Anderson, Mark (Tywanda) Anderson, Alicia (Robert Yarbro) Williams, Rosalyn “Peaches” Anderson, Michael Williams, Michelle Williams; 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and greats, and adopted grand Alicia Ingram and precious devoted Family Friend and devoted Home Health Care Taker Mrs. Anna Reid.
