Mrs. Elsie Jean Wilson Burton

Elsie Jean Wilson Burton was born December 15, 1936, to the union of Stinson and Willie Irene Moten Wilson of Montezuma, TN. At the time of her death, she was the second eldest of thirteen children. She professed her life in Christ at an early age at the Montezuma C.M.E. Church. Later, she became a member of the Frye’s Point C.M.E. Church where she served as a stewardess. She was educated in the Montezuma school from Kindergarten to eighth grade and she later attended the Chester County Training School. She worked at the Chester County Sportswear for over thirty years until her Retirement. She later worked with her husband, Jimmie at the Henderson Church of Christ until her health no longer allowed her to. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Summers were a very special time at Granny and Pawpaw’s house with lots of memories. She enjoyed attending church, sewing, cooking, working in the flower garden, word searches, shopping, watching those Chicago Bulls in the 90s’, soap operas, and westerns. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Burton; her parents, Stinson and Irene Wilson; three brothers, Roy Lee, Marshall, and Marsh Wilson; two sisters, Alice Rupert and Patricia Wilson; one daughter, Mary Irene Hurde; one Son, Jimmie Burton, Jr; two grandsons, Keith White and Quovadis Trice. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sherry Ross (Phenix) and Linda Burton of Finger, TN; two sons, Willie Jerome Burton of Finger, TN and Anthony Jerome Burton (Sherry) of Purdy, TN; one granddaughter she raised as her daughter, Dawn Nicole Johnson (Dewond) of Lexington, TN; one son-in-law, Jerry Hurde of Henderson, TN; four brothers, Willie Wilson of Finger, TN, Charles Wilson (Charlene) and Scottie Wilson (Inez) of Beloit, WI, and Jerry Wilson of Henderson, TN; two sisters, Joyce Barham (Victor) and Exie Smith of Henderson, TN. Two sisters-in-law, Doris Arnold of Huron, TN, and Girtie Arnold of Henderson, TN; six brothers-in-law, Paul Burton of Obion, TN, Earnest Burton (Shirley) of Finger, TN, Cecil Burton (Belinda), James Burton (Verlene), Harvey Muse, and John S. Burton all of Henderson, TN; Grandchildren, Michael Burton (Annetta), Gwen Clark-Fiorpiselli (Steven), Kevin Williamson (Tabitha), Ashley Burton, Shereno McBride (Jonathon), Keely Burton, Jeffery Burton (Erica), Kaylan Campbell (James), Shalita Trice, and Tevin Ross; Great Grandchildren, Tylan Johnson (Natalie), Trevon, Michael Jr, Jakobe, Jayla, DeShaun, Jeremiah, Olivia, Gracie, Skylar, Liberty, Bryanna, Keelan, Marlon, Laela, Loki, Lior, Roman, and Amari; Great-Great Grandchildren, Rozlynn and Aiden; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
