Clara Etta “Lemon” Fuller Merriweather was born on May 14, 1929 to the late Philmore “Big Babe” Fuller and Fannie Cobb Fuller in Hardeman County, Tennessee. She transitioned from this life on January 11, 2022 at 2:10 A.M. She was reared in Hardeman County and received her education there. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Clover Chapel Baptist Church in Toone, Tennessee. She was a member until she moved to Jackson, Tennessee. She then united with Cerro Gordo Baptist Church where she was a long time member. She held several capacities: Mother’s Board, The Missionary Society, The Ruth Circle, member of the choir and was in charge of the Kitchen. She later join Bread of Life Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail. On March 1, 1953, Clara was united in Holy Matrimony to Joe Edward Merriweather and this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years: Joe Edward Merriweather; her one and only grandchild: Jerry Dwayne Franklin, Jr.; two brothers: Booker T. Fuller and Millard Fuller; sister: Almedia Golden; aunt: Sylvester Robinson; step-mother: May Ella Fuller and brother-in-law: Clarence Merriweather. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children: Beverly (Herby) Martin and Crystal Merriweather both of Jackson, Tennessee and Eddie (Shirlaine) Merriweather of Memphis, Tennessee; one special grand goddaughter: Madison Cole of Jackson, Tennessee; one sister: Catha M. Fuller of Nashville, Tennessee and one brother: G.W. (Laura) Fuller of Flint, Michigan; five sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
