Ms. Clara Bell Williamson Flowers

September 23, 1948 - February 26, 2022

Clara Bell Williamson Flowers was born on September 23, 1948 to the late Mr. Clenzie and Mrs. Sylvar Rene Williamson in Jackson, Tennessee. Clara was loved and blessed to be the fourth of their eleven children. She departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2022. As a young child, Clara gave her life to the Lord and was baptized under Reverend Cleavant Derricks at Macedonia Baptist Church on Lane Avenue. She most enjoyed singing in the Youth Choir, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She raised her children to love and appreciate Macedonia, “the Church with a Big Heart”. Most importantly, she taught her children never to lose faith and maintain a relationship with God; know Jesus as your Savior, and allow the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide you because “I can’t be with you forever on earth, but we can have eternal life”. Clara attended the public schools of Jackson-Madison County, having graduated with honors from Merry High in 1966. In high school, she was noted as a really good basketball player on the Merry High School Lady Hornets and enjoyed dancing. She continued her education, pursuing and earning the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 1970 from Lane College. While at Lane, she worked in the cafeteria and loved catering during basketball games and other formal events in the dining hall. Clara leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Tracey E. Flowers, a son, Samuel D. Flowers; two granddaughters, Tera Flowers and Jailyn Washington; two great-granddaughters: and Kera Shaw and Kyia Brown all of Memphis, Tennessee; whom she deeply loved, and they “Loved Clara Bell”. She is survived by six living sisters, who supported her until her last days. She also leaves to cherish her memory, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who all benefited from her generous love and support in making valuable life decisions. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya LaDawn Flowers, a sister, three brothers, and her parents and grandparents. Truly, Clara Williamson Flowers will always be loved and missed, until God reunites us all.
