He later became a member of New St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, where he attended until his health failed. As a Student... Charles attended public schools in Hardeman County. As a Man Serving His Country... He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. As a Man of Means... Charles was employed for many years with Robert Day Construction. Later, he was self-employed as a brick mason. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Flora Jean Stewart and Otonda Stewart, two sisters, three brothers, and two grandsons. Family Legacy... As a Husband: He was married to Frances Donald Stewart for 42 years. As a Father: He was a loving father to four children: Tony Stewart and Andrae Stewart, both of Jackson, TN, Brenda (Hosea) Walton of Elkart, IN, and Kathy Stewart of Medon, TN. As a Brother: He was a brother to five siblings: Henry (Eloise) Stewart of Vallejo, CA, Thomas (Renee) Stewart of Memphis, TN, L. C. (Diane) Stewart of Bolivar, TN, Mary Ruth (Bill) Miller of Nashville, TN, and Olivia (Laurence) Williams of Bolivar, TN. As a Grandfather and Great-Grandfather: He had nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. As an Uncle: He was an uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
