Mrs. Marilyn Delores March Cole

Mrs. Marilyn Delores March – Cole was born October 13, 1953 in Medon, TN to her parents Elmer “L.D.” David March and Eunice Earline Moore-March. Both parents preceded her in death. She answered God’s call on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a short illness. Education She attended West High School and graduated in 1972 with honors. In 1988, she attended West Tennessee Business College earning her degree in Cosmetology. She was honored as the “Most Outstanding Student” in 1989. Salvation At an early age, Mrs. Cole accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She lived by the Word of the bible and spread the gospel with most everyone she came in contact. She lived a prosperous life. Her infectious and beautiful smile and her Christian life touched everyone that she met. And, she never met a stranger. To know her was to love her. In 1988, she joined the Lord’s Tabernacle Church #2 under the leadership of Pastor Jerome Ross where she served on the Usher Board. Upon her passing, she was still serving in the Lord’s Tabernacle Fellowship Ministries at Faith Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Pastor Louis B. and Mother Barbara J. Jones. There she faithfully served on the Missionary Board, Mother Board, Cleaning Committee, Pastor’s Love Committee, Hospitality Committee, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, song leader, encourager, prayer worrier, and soldier for Christ. She loved Christ and was committed to fulfilling His will for her life. And, her lifestyle remains a legacy and example for all. Employment Mrs. Cole was employed at the Bemis Mill from 1975-1988 for 13 years. For several years she worked at Brook’s Beauty Supply. From there, she started sewing for the public in 1993 alongside a long time friend for about a year. Then she branched out on her own as an entrepreneur. Some of her contract clients included Denise LaSalle, the Diamond Jaxx/Jackson General Minor League Baseball Team – owned by the Seattle Mariners, and Maxx Guard Security. She was indeed creative and multi-talented, a “Jane of all trades, master of many”. And, she demonstrated those skills as a hairdresser, preparing taxes and was a fantastic cook. Whatever she put her hand to do, she succeeded because she was a hard worker and did it all unto glory of the Lord. Family Mrs. Marilyn Cole married her husband and best friend, Prentice Edward Cole, on February 11, 1973 in Jackson, TN. They were happily married for 41 years. And, she leaves behind to cherish her memory four beautiful children, Anita (Terrell) Godwin, Prentice “Bug” Cole, Jr., Kevin (Clarissa) Cole, and Christopher Cole all of Jackson, TN; 10 grandchildren (eldest to youngest): Anastasia Godwin (Anita’s), Monét Cole (Prentice, Jr’s), Jaylan Cole (Chris’), Keanu Cole (Kevin’s), Brooklyn Cole (Chris’), Sydnee Cole (Chris’), Astaria Godwin (Anita’s), Christopher “C.J.” Cole, Jr. (Chris’), Terrell “T.J.” Godwin, Jr. (Anita’s), and Jurnee Cole (Prentice, Jr’s); and 13 siblings: Clara (Lester) Norton, New Albany, MS, Don March, Memphis, TN, Elmer David March, Jr., Columbus, GA, Linda March, Jackson, TN, Wanda March, Ripley, MS, Sharon (Michael) Pate, Tiplerville, MS, Cynthia March, Indianapolis, IN, Patricia March, Jackson, TN, Maurice “Tony” March, Indianapolis, IN, Gloria (Harold) Baker, Beech Bluff, TN, Virginia (Ronald) Bryant, Jackson, TN, Jackie (Michael) Muir, O’Fallon, MO, Stacey (Gregory) Pegues, Jackson, TN; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
