Ms. Joyce Barham

Joyce Barham was born on November 10, 1942, to the late Stinson and Irene Wilson, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Joyce lived a life defined by love, family, and quiet strength. She began her journey in Montezuma, Tennessee, where she attended Montezuma United Methodist Church and Montezuma Elementary School alongside her siblings. After her family relocated to Chester County, she played basketball for Chester County Training School and later continued her education at Vincent High School. She entered the workforce with a strong sense of purpose and dedication. She worked at Chester County Sports Wear and later used her talents in the kitchen as a cook at Skylark and at the truck stop in Chester County until health challenges arose. It was during her working years that she met the love of her life, Victor Barham. After five years of courtship, they were united in holy matrimony in 1961, beginning a marriage that would span over six decades. As a stay-at-home wife and mother, Joyce devoted her life to nurturing her family. She was a gifted cook and a talented seamstress, lovingly sewing clothes for her children and others in the community. She became a pillar of strength within her family, not only raising her own children but also playing a vital role in raising several of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Williams, and her sisters Patricia Croom, Ann Rupert, and Peggy Burton. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 64 years, Victor Barham; her brothers Willie Wilson, Scotty (Inez) Wilson, Charles (Charlene) Wilson, Jerry Wilson, and one sister Exie Smith; her eight children: Samuel Barham, Teresa Barham, Aquilla (Robert) Perkins, Victor Barham Jr., Perry Barham, Marsh Barham, Timothy Barham, and Mazella Barham. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends— each of whom she held close to her heart. Joyce Barham's legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in all who knew her. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support leave an indelible mark that time cannot
