Ms. Claudine Strong

Born on May 1, 1948 in Shannon, Mississippi, Claudine Strong was the daughter to the late Jim Strong and Fannie Finley Strong. Her primary educational journey began in Shannon, but would later conclude with her as a proud graduate of Merry High in Jackson, TN, with nostalgia for education and a love for all. Claudine continued her education at Lane College where she received a Bachelor of Science – Education. For a short stent post graduation, she taught Grammar School in the Detroit, Michigan Public School System. She served in many capacities within her 25 years of service for Proctor and Gamble that resolved with her resignation in 1998. Claudine was an aficionado for many things especially bowling, but being in-charge was her favorite. It was Claudine's way or no way, she had an unrelenting love for her family and if you were a friend of Claudine's you were family. She loved playing cards with Brenda or waking up on some mornings conjuring up ways to get on Joyce's nerves. She was an avid proponent for all things religious and on Sunday's you weren't just going to church, you had to be at Sunday School and you better be on-time. She was an ever faithful member at Christ Temple Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A., where she was Sunday School teacher, Treasurer and Head Woman in Charge. One of her proudest moments was when her sister Mary pioneered the crusade for her being named Woman of the Year on the Local, District and Diocesan levels. Unable to reproduce she took a kindred spirit to everyone's children; however, there wasn't a place she could go without her special son Brandon being joined at her hip. She stayed on Ebonee and Brandy and let them know her house shall always be their first stop and although her heart gave out when it did beat it would beat for Diamon and Sydnee. She was preceded in death by four sisters; Lillie Bell Lewis, Lula Elizabeth Finley, Maggie Strong and Annie Mae Strong; one brother, Jimmy Strong. Claudine leaves to cherish her beautiful memories; one brother, Jerry(Elizabeth) Strong of Troy, MI; eight sisters, Christine Gunn of Jackson, TN; Mabeline Anderson of Chicago, IL; Katie (Henry) Hodges of Southfield, MI; Dorothy (Savannah) Reeves of Milwaukee, WI; Mary Shaw of Memphis TN; Joyce Strong, Brenda Maclin and Martha DonZeliar Strong all of Jackson, TN; 34 nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends
