Mrs. Annie Jewel Trice

When your work on this earth is done, GOD will gently call you home! Quiet and Peaceful, Annie Jewel (Welch) Trice transitioned on Tuesday April 1, 2025. She was born December 19, 1939 to union of the late Rev. Henry and Shadye Welch in Chester County Tennessee. She’s the oldest of six children, and proceeded in death by siblings Bruce Welch, Mae Thaxton and Freddie Welch. Having graduated from Chester County schools, she continued her education at Lane College in Jackson, TN where she received her degree in Education. Just before graduating she was united in holy matrimony to Jimmie Trice on April 14, 1963 and eventually moved to St Louis, MO. To this union three children were born. She was devoted to her husband and children, her time was spent pouring into her family so many precious moments. She spent several years at home nurturing her children before pursuing her teaching certificate at University of Missouri St Louis to begin her career in the local school system. She taught at Christian Academy of Greater St Louis, as well as Hazelwood public schools until she retired in 2001. It was extremely clear how much she loved to educate and guide the youth in her classes. Not only did she educate in the local schools she was also a dedicated Sunday school teacher at West End Church of Christ for many years. For years she loved to sew, exercise and enjoyed preparing homemade ice cream, biscuits, rolls and German Chocolate cake. Among her favorite activities were also trips to the zoo, museums and library. One of her most precious qualities was her ability to be a confidant, listener, and offer words of encouragement and advise. Upon retirement, she and Jimmie relocated to Cordova, TN where they became members at Norris Road Church of Christ. She leaves to cherish her loving memories husband Jimmie Trice; children Daron Trice (Henderson TN), Molisa (Jamie) Raybon (McKinney TX) and Marvin Trice (Cordova TN); precious granddaughter Gabrielle Raybon. Her siblings meant so much; sister Betty Clifford (Henderson TN); brother Clark (Sandra) Welch (Bartlett TN); sisters in law Shirley Welch, Joyce Welch and Patsy McNeal (Henderson TN); Jewell Trice, Bettye Trice and Addie Trice (Nashville TN); brother in law Johnnie Trice (Henderson TN). And a host of devoted and loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends all held a special place in her heart.
