Mr. Ulysses Wade Jr.

Mr. Ulysses Grant Wade, Jr. was born June 15, 1948 in Alamo Tennessee to the late Ulysses Grant Wade Sr. and the late Igenie Vaughn Wade. He departed this life Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the age of 70. Wade or Junior, as he was affectionately called by those who knew him, attended Progressive Baptist Church. He received his formal education at Central High School Class of 1966 in Crockett County where he graduated with distinction as the class Salutatorian. Wade furthered his education as a proud graduate of the 1970 class of Tennessee State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Agricultural Economics. After graduating Tennessee State University, Wade pursued a number of career interest including the United States Department of Agriculture, the insurance industry, Emergency Medical Services (EMT), and private security. However, Wade’s true passion throughout his career was real estate. He obtained is broker’s license and started his own real estate company in the 1980’s serving the East Jackson and West TN communities he loved so dearly. Wade was an avid outdoors man. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time on the farm. He also loved gardening and was well known throughout the community for his “green thumb”. Wade had a strong passion for antiquities, frequenting estate sales to peruse the wares. He was devoted family man who loved spending time with his relatives reminiscing and discussing the family genealogy. Wade knew no strangers and gave love to everyone he knew. He was a beloved man who believed in helping his community by giving what he had and believed in helping others to achieve their dreams. He was a force and a vocal advocate of new learning. Wade showed love to and was loved by many. He contributed to the life of those less fortunate and he will live on through us and the lives of all the people he touched. He was united in marriage to Emma Marie Wade on August 15, 1976. They were married for 32 years and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Emma Marie Wade, brother-in-law Lawrence Blythe, grandson, Jonathan Garcia Wade. He leaves to cherish his memories his son Lamar Grant (Audrika) Wade, Sr; daughter, Jessica Marie Wade; son Jeremy Darrell (Nancy) Wade; grandchildren: Alexus, Nataya, Madison, Lamar, Jr, Emery, Giovanni, Nathaniel; great granddaughter: Serenity; two sisters: Mildred Blythe, Peggy (Joseph) Wade; one brother: Alvin (Rosa) Wade and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
