Mrs. Linda Fay Buck Smith

Linda Fay Buck Smith was born on January 18, 1947, in Lexington, Tennessee to the late John and Elizabeth Buck. She was educated in the Henderson County school system and graduated from Montgomery High School in Lexington in 1964. Linda married the late James Matthew Smith on July 28, 1965 and to this union five sons were born. Linda accepted Christ at an early age when she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Brownsville, TN. Linda held and supported many positions in the church. She faithfully served as the Treasurer, president of the youth group, helped in the kitchen, supported the renovation of the church and many other key roles. Throughout Linda’s life she worked in roles which highlighted her ability to care for others. Linda worked for many years at the Senior Citizen Center in Lexington. She also worked at various home healthcare facilities in the area. Linda assisted many families by providing personal care and attention to their elderly family members. She also worked for the Brown Shoe Company in Lexington. Linda was well-known for her skills in the kitchen where she loved cooking for her family and friends. Linda was a source of strength and comfort to all whose paths she crossed. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Linda’s passion and mission in life was helping and serving others any way she could. A chapter in the Book of Life was closed on September 26, 2013 when Linda was called home to eternal rest. Her passing leaves a huge void in the lives of the people that she loved and those who loved her. Left to cherish her memory are her five sons: Kenneth Smith of Lexington, TN, Timothy Smith of Lexington, TN, James Smith of Nashville, TN, Dustan Smith of Lexington, TN and Eric Smith of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren who she raised as her own: Gregory Webb, Tameka Webb and Justin Webb, all of Lexington, TN; a devoted companion: Charles DeBerry of Lexington, TN. Three sisters Johnnie Maye Hopewell, Sherry Gooch and Tammy Buck and one brother, Benjamin Buck. A lifetime of memories will forever live on in the lives of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Also, left to cherish her memories are a host of special friends who supported Linda throughout her life, as well as those who saw her through her latest struggles prior to entering the gates of Heaven.
